With a grunt, he swung the bottle with the full strength of both hands. It connected with a loud, sickening thud against Deepak’s skull, the glass shattering upon impact. Scotch and blood mixed in a horrifying mix, dripping down Deepak’s stunned face. He stumbled back, holding his head, a pained scream escaping his lips. Pranav's action drained him. He fell back into his chair, the alcohol finally overtaking him. His last sight was of Deepak on the floor in great pain. He then closed his eyes and passed out. Meanwhile, Myra paced restlessly below in her room, her mind racing with scenarios and outcomes. The silence from above unnerved her. Finally, after waiting for 3 hours, she lost her patience, unable to contain her anxiety any longer. She climbed the stairs to the deck, shouting, “Deepak! Deepak!” The scene before her shocked her to her very core. She just stopped completely. Pranav wasn’t moving, seemingly unconscious in his chair, and there was no sign of Deepak! She was completely panic-stricken. “Pranav, ley... wake up! Deepak ekkada? Emaindi ikkada??” she demanded, shaking him by the shoulder. Tears fell from Myra's face, splashing onto Pranav's face and shoulders as she shook him left and right. Pranav’s eyes finally opened, his mind slowly coming back to reality.
