WS-C6509-E
#~`

6503-E, 6506-E, 6509-E

these are latest version chassis.... which has back plane thruput of 40Gbps.... all the latest Sup720 ( 3B, 3bXL, 3C, 3cXL etc) goes on it.... prior version doesn't support on these chassis.

Coming to line cards, on these chassis only c67xx version of latest only works, like c6748, c6716 etc

coming to Power requirements, based on our necessity & availability, either we can go for 1400kW, 3000kW, 4000kW etc

ok line cards role enti ?? chasis ante uplink access chasis kada ??? sup module ante brain kada ????
chassis ante plain dabba with back plane.anthey....

for empty chassis, u need to populate - FAN, Power supply modules, line card modules, SUp cards

Sup card = is the processor card, as said brain, which also has couple of 1 Gig ports & couple of 10 Gig ports. based on which model of Sup720

Line Cards = are for more ports options..like u want this router to connect to other router....thru a 1 Gig port.....where u will connect... u have only 2 ports on sup 720. suppose this router is acting as core router & all access & distribution layer switches (for ex:100) each want to connect to this router thru 1 Gig each... u need like 100 1 Gig ports. just install 3Nos of c6748( 48 port 1 Gig line card) .... serves the purpose.......
suppose u want some aggregation switches want to connect thru 10 Gig link to this router, install a c6716 ( 16 port 10 Gig), serves the purpose.....

so based on which type of ports u need, can populate that type of line card surves the purpose

FAN = for cooling

POwer supply modules = for supplying power

Ok nee language lo ne cheptha

access cards means - line cards ports which are used to access layer devices like devices within our company - like lower end devices ( c3560 , c3750, etc ). generally these are low BW ports ( like 1G)
uplink cards - mean line cards ports specically used for uplinks ( like ISPs, other core routers) outgoing links.... generally these are high BW ports ( like 10G)

inka GBIC antava...... there are 2 types....... direct ga line cards lo pettevi..... or line card lo petti....vati meeda u have provision to either SFPs or SFPtoRJ45 converters

these SFPs are many types - most famous are classified - single mode / mutlimode , short reach (SR) / Long Reach (LR)/ Medium Reach (MR) or etc
