okka sari application submit chesavu ani proof vunnantha varaku, ne status ayipoyina cap gap kindaki vastavu.... it means... until you get a decision on that application your status will eb extended and you can continue working

In your case if you file your H1b on Apr 1st and your petition is approved then technically you can stay in US but you can't work till OCT 1st.
In case if you have your OPT till APR 2nd and you filed your H1 on APR 1st and got it approved, then You can legally work on your CAP GAP till OCT 1st.

Dude, He will not be out of status... OPT iyyaka 60 day rule vuntundi...So he can file any visa during that time.. In the above case he can file H1 and stay in this country (provided it is approved)but he can't work till OCT 1st. In case if it is denied( sorry but prepare for worst) he is supposed to leave the country before 60 day grace period..
