Job Title: VMware Architect
Job type: Contract,
Positions: 2 (1 senior+ 1 junior)
Contract Period: 8 to 12 months,
Location : New York City, NY.



Summary:

This position is for a senior VMware Architect, with experience designing and deploying VMware solutions on HP blades and rack mounted servers. This person should have advanced understanding of VMware technologies, storage and networking. This position requires solid written and oral communications skills, and the person should be capable of presenting solutions to senior-level audiences, both technical and non-technical. 

 
Hands on working experience with, and solid understanding of the following technologies:

9+ years designing and deploying VMware solutions.

Extensive experience with the following technologies:

Cisco Nexus 1000v, Virtual Distributed Switches

vMotion, svMotion, evMotion

SRM, DRS, HA

vCOPS, Converter

Capacity and performance planning

Veeam, and integration with Enterprise technologies  from Microsoft, Red hat, HP, IBM, etc.

Storage technologies, including HBAs, SAN, Fibre Channel, and NAS.

Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server virtualization, and Active Directory integration.
HP technologies including blades and rack mounted servers -- should be able to design and deploy an HP x86 environment and be familiar with Virtual Connect, and HP management tools.

Must be able to design and leverage High Availability, Load Balancing, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
