Ticket prices are too cheap
You should keep the ticket prices $500 per person. That justify the high price you paid and your profits and loads of money we pay towards all the non-sense.

You better stop exploiting with high tickets are people will eventually are forced to go the sites and watch from there.

Glad the ticket prices are very reasonable. I feared that ticket prices could be around $12. You alleviated my fears. Now With just couple of more part time jobs, I can watch the movie with family. Thanks a million for very reasonable prices.  report abusevote downvote up

Good movie; reasonable price means satisfaction to the audiences. Ridiculous prices, even a good movie provides dissatisfaction. This is the reason why many audiences are forced to watch movies online for free even with a bad print. I hope exhibitors, producers will understand this. CJ and other movie fans,

Yes, that should be the way to go. I hope it will not, but the exhibitors should understand, if the movie flops, then with $25 who will watch it? If they keep it reasonable price, even if the movie is not good, commonsense is that people may go and watch it for time pass. Such a common point why the distributors and exhibitors do not understand I do not know. It is just the greed, since they paid 10 crores they feel like minting 100 crores. Dear Boochamma Boochodu,

You do not have guts to publish your own name. You are not getting the point here. Today it is $25 and tomorrow some other distributor wants $50 . Is there a limit? I bet if the movie gets 2 or 2.5 rating; then the same distributor out of fear will reduce it to $10 in a week he sells it for $5. What our point is keep it reasonable. You either do not have head or thinking analysis to compare Aagadu and Boochamma Boochodu. If the movie is promising; then surely we will post the stub or directly mail it to you if you have guts to publish your details. The point is think about your ownself; in next few big releases if every distributor raises the ticket prices to lets say for next 4 big releases to $50; forget about me; will "YOU" go? With family? or think if the ticket price is reasonable I am sure not only YOU but people like me and CJ also will watch it. I hope you understand and stop over pricing. I am a fan of a telugu movie does not matter who the actors are. From B&W oldies to Midhunam to Swami Rara/Manam to the latest small/big movies - if it is decent I watch them. With family. I really do not care if PK/M/RT/NTR/V/AN/P/etc., or any one else. As long as movie is entertaining, I like it. To the point of high prices, I am against the high prices not to any distributor not a hero. I am not an immature person to support high prices and watch any movie. My point is simple; when a 500 million dollar movie releases with the same price why not a 10 million dollar movie release with same price? As far as us are considered, we will not watch any movie if the ticket price is more than $12. That is final.  report abusevote downvote up

i have been reading the above arguments. each individual has a point. but i agree that high prices will damage all sectors - patrons, actors, distributors, theaters, and other dependents in the long run. more fearfully; if a family of 4 wants to watch @$25 or @$20; it costs around $100. In that case, a common man (middle class) will surely think instead buy tickets of amc in costco; watch a hollywood movie instead. here; love for telugu movies are taken for granted; and greedy guys are squeezing the golden goose to death. no matter how some people supported the high prices (due to high distribution/theater rent etc.,); I do not encourage high prices, i prefer to wait and watch aaraam se in my home theater on my recliner or on-line instead of spending $100.  report abusevote downvote up

Distributors are giving prices and they are responsible for whatever. Also I am not exhibiting AAGADU. So please do not bring my name up wherever you want. And I do not like the word 'sense' in your comment. Exhibit one big movie on your own and you can put sense to other exhibitors. Since distributors are controlling prices and i cannot control, I am not begging anybody to watch the movies I exhibit. I am unlike other exhibitors and I respect this forum comments. Sravan said: Vijay is reasonable on prices.
Hi Vijay garu,

I know you for a long time, for reasonable pricing and exhibiting movies in OC. And many times I have seen that if someone requested, you have reduced the prices as well. I even have seen you letting many times kids without buying tickets. Please don't get angry because CJ said about high prices. I understand the pains of an exhibitor and a distributor (though I am not one of them).

But here the point is not you, but the never ending and raising high prices. I am guessing we, all the movie lovers are getting ripped off and frustrated about the increasing prices. Perhaps, he (CJ) and many others like me want to find out way on controlling the prices. About complaining; this is a free country and everyone can do whatever they want as long as it is legal and ethical (though many don't practice this). As someone above mentioned rightly, when a $500 M movie like Avatar can release at the same prices why not a $10 M movie? I hope this fight against increasing prices will succeed and both parties (patrons and D/E's) will benefit.

Peace.

 Vijay said: Re: Sravan
I am not angry andi. I respect genuine concerns of all telugu movie goers including cj and agree that prices should come down. But we shouldn't criticize anybody on their personal credibilities especially if we do not have expertise in that area. I genuinely feel that I have business sense. But just as all businesses, we cannot purchase something from wholesaler for $10 (price set by wholesaler) and give it to retailer (price set by exhibitor) for $8. Also distributors do not compare telugu movies ticket prices with english movies since they have wider range of movie goers as all countries people watch them. And telugu movies watched only by limited set which is a fraction of english movie audience. The only solution for reduced ticket prices is that all distributors must stop buying movies nationwide which will make producers reduce their prices to distributors and distributors to exhibitors and exhibitors cheaper ticket price to audience. Hope it happens some day and make us all happy.  report abusevote downvote up

Vijay and every other exhibitor,
Like sravan pointed out the issue is increase in price not the exhibitor. Like it or not, the fact is prices started low and within short time, they have gone up to where it does not make sense to see the movie in theater. Granted everyone has a perspective and the right to express their perspective. Again it is about the prices and I do not care who the exhibitor is. The so called distributors need to get the message and we do not deal with them but you do. Take the message if you want to or choose to.

In that case, a common man (middle class) will surely think instead buy tickets of amc in costco; watch a hollywood movie instead. here; love for telugu movies are taken for granted; and greedy guys are squeezing the golden goose to death. no matter how some people supported the high prices (due to high distribution/theater rent etc.,); I do not encourage high prices, i prefer to wait and watch aaraam se in my home theater on my recliner or on-line instead of spending $100.  report abusevote downvote up

directly Cj if you have issues with the movies I exhibit. My number 6192180543. I am not scared to any consumer complaints. Please do whatever you want. So I will not sit silent and accept all the stuff you post unless it makes sense to me. Anything you want to talk, .  report abusevote downvote up

Peace.
Sravan.  report abusevote downvote up

Hey, last time you guys charged $25 for Nenokkadine#1.And, most of us like me were skeptical that's its going to be a huge flop and that might be the reason you guys raked prices; so that you guys could make more money on day#1 before all the reviews are out. I hope it isn't the same case this time.  report abusevote downvote up

I will tell you one thing though - I will campaign against the high prices within the community I live and I have friends in.  report abusevote downvote up

Dear Distributors,

Us, a bunch of telugu movie lovers in LA and OC surroundings would like to bring the pricing issue to your attention. Be it greed, or to cover costs, year by year, movie by movie your pricing is increasing which is un-acceptable to many of the movie lovers. How the pricing is effecting all of us, you may check the above arguments and come to a conclusion and then act accordingly. Hopefully you will take a decision in favor or everyone. We do not want you to have losses, at the same time we do not want to feel that we are ripped off.

Thanks for your understanding and please make a decision that is in favor of everyone.

Sincerely,
Sravan and many other telugu movie lovers from OC and LA area.  report abusevote downvote up

We used to watch premier show's and last time for Nenokkadine#1 since the price is high, we decided not to go and now again. So, the exhibitor losses say $30 (2 tickets from my end and if it is reasonable $15 per ticket)...  report abusevote downvote up

Looks like the regular price is now changed to $18. How come ? Why can't it be $12? It only confirms that the distributors and exhibitors are thinking that you can charge whatever price you can think of and people will put up and pay. As you can see, we will not. Like four others in this comments section, you just lost my 6 6 tickets because of ridiculous price. Hope you learn from what Kumar said above.  report abusevote downvote up

Friends,

From OC, we 2-3 families decided not to watch this movie with this price tag. There you go another 12 tickets lost for the greedy people. I will propagate around more and make sure atleast 5 more families will not watch not only this movie; but any movie where ticket price is more than 12 dollars.

Thanks Srikanth garu and others. Please make it a big movement and let us teach the distributor community that this is USA and tactics used in India are not going to work here. Please communicate this to all the other telugu families and try your best to educate them not to support high prices. Once couple of them burn their fingers then rest will not dare the same mistake. In the mean time, me and few others will pursue complaining as a consumer forum to the appropriate institutions.
