‘Hero’ to come to Andhra Pradesh!!

India's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp plans to invest Rs 2,200 crore to set up a manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.

The state Cabinet cleared allotment of 600 acres near Sri City in Chittoor district yesterday.

Sri Pawan Munjal of Hero Moto-Corp met CBN in Delhi last week and entered into a preliminary agreement to set up the project.

The proposed plant, which will be completed in 18 months, will have a capacity of 1.8 million units, It will Hero MotoCorp's sixth facility and first in South India, taking the company's overall annual capacity to 12 million units.

Hero Motocorp plant is now going to be established in Telangana. Earlier there were news that the company preferred Andhra Pradesh but with the news cropped up, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao ordered Chief Secretary of Telangana industries ministry, Pradeep Chandra to look in to the issue. Pradeep Chandra met Hero Motocorp COO Vikram in Delhi couple of days back and offered him the best possible deal than what AP offered.

Finally the company decided to set up its plant in Telangana. The company will be investing 2000 to 3000 Crores in this plant which will ensure 1000 direct employment. Hero MotoCorp is the leading two wheeler maker in the country. This is the sixth manufacturing facility for the company across the country. The company wants to setup the unit in South India so as to cater the needs of the region
