East Coast Railway suspends 37 trains ahead of Hudhud Cyclone threat - Tv9

    Cylone Hudhud which has become a threat to the states of AP, Odisha, parts of West Bengal has been upgraded to 'severe cyclonic storm' on Friday as the intensity is felt more. The storm is likely to gain its intensity further and speedily it is surging towards the Visakha coast. East Coast Railways have suspended the 37 trains enroute to Bhubaneswar and Vijayawada and it has also diverted 31 trains as a means of precaution. Tonight more train services are likely to be cancelled.

పెను తుపాను హుదూద్ తీరాన్ని ఇంకా తాకక ముందే దాని ప్రభావం మాత్రం అప్పుడే మొదలైంది. తుపాను కారణంగా శ్రీకాకుళం జిల్లాలో భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్నాయి. లోతట్టు ప్రాంతాలు జలమయమవుతున్నాయి. విద్యుత్ తీగలు తెగి పడే అవకాశం ఉండటంతో... జిల్లాలోని పలు ప్రాంతాల్లో విద్యుత్ సరఫరాను నిలిపివేశారు.

Hudhud likely to cross coast early Sunday - ABN

 

The severe cyclonic storm Hudhud is now expected to cross the coast in north Andhra by early morning on Sunday. It may cause less adverse impact on Southern Odisha in terms of rains and winds. As the cyclone effect is going to be severe, the people living in coastal areas are frightened. In Vijayanagaram district, the fishermen of coastal regions are shifted to safer zones. Rehabilitation centers are being set up with adequate food, water and medicines. AP Minister for Rural Development, Kimidi Mrinalini has reviewed the arrangements and ordered the officials to make sure all the arrangements are proper.

With the warnings from MeT department that Srikakulam district is going to experience the curse of cyclone Hudhud, the district Collector has alerted all the concerned officials to take preventive measures.District Collector has called upon the people not to venture into sea and also on to roads. Speaking to media, the Collector said that though the state government has been providing the assistance, the chief secretary has contacted the cabinet secretary at the Centre for additional teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
