Village of Monsanto

This village in Portugal has 828 inhabitants. The entire village was created around natural boulders. Many of these boulders are a type of granite.

Global Vipassana Pagoda

This is the tallest stone-only structure in the world. It is located near Mumbai and honors the practice of Vipassana, related to Buddhism. Not only that, but it is Gilded, and looks amazing. It was completed in 2009.

The name is was translated in English as the Church of Saint George. The Ethiopian church is now simply referred to as Lalibela. It is often said to be the 8th wonder of the world, and for good reason!

Suspended Temple of Mt. Hengshan

Also called the hanging temple, this Chinese holy place was built over 1500 years ago. This place is held together by oak crossbeams fitted into holes in the side of the cliff.

Cliff Palace

The Pueblo people built this palace mostly out of sandstone in 1200 CE. It's now located in Colorado's Mesa Verde National Park. It has relatively small doorways because the people were smaller then.

Made entirely from mud bricks, this city has 7,000 inhabitants and buildings that reach up to 11 stories high.
