Grease Stains

If you've got a grease stain that's tricky to get out, try rubbing dry white chalk on it and letting it sit for a bit. It should absorb most of the grease, at which point you can wash it off with traditional cleaning methods.

Pet Hair Squeegee

Sometimes you might not realize just how much pet hair there is in your carpet. The tacky material that a squeegee is made of will stick the hair to it as you run it across your carpet, and soon you'll see all of the hair that was hiding in there.

Dusting Sheets

Get more bang for your buck with dryer sheets. Instead of throwing away dryer sheets after you’ve used them in the laundry and the smell is all gone, use them for a cleaning rag. Use the dryer sheets on essentially anything that you need to dust.

Newspaper Towel

If you can’t get your glass tables or mirrors clean without streaks everywhere, try wiping them with newspaper. Use the newspaper instead of a towel and glass cleaner and watch your mirrors and glass get cleaner than ever.

Safely Cleaned Grinder

Slice the bread, not your hand. If you’re tired of slicing your hand trying to clean the coffee and spice grinder, start using bread. Place bread or white rice in the grinder and pulverize it inside of the grinder. Next, place one tablespoon of baking soda in the grinder and grind it. The combination of the two will help clean and get rid of any old odors. Next just give it a quick wipe down and you’re all set.

Glass Sandwich

If glass shatters all over the floor and there are small shards everywhere, use a piece of bread. The bread will pick up all the smaller pieces of glass shards that your naked eye may not be able to see.

Hot Lemon Cleaner

If you have gunk all over your microwave, cut a lemon in half and put it inside of glass of hot water. Place the lemon water in your microwave and turn the microwave on for 5 minutes or until the water starts to boil. Let it sit for about a minute. This will let the gunk in the microwave wipe away with no problem.

Dry Clothes Faster

If you need to speed up the time to dry your load of laundry, throw in one dry towel. After 15 minutes remove the towel and allow it to continue drying. The towel is absorbing some of the moisture, which will reduce the amount of time required to dry.

Shining Glass

If your glasses are having cloudy days, cheer them up with some vinegar. Simply spray some white vinegar on your glasses and wipe them with a paper towel. This simple fix will cheer them right up and have them shining like they’re brand new.
