Very Very Crucial Month For Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: For Andhra Pradesh February will be crucial to find out how much funds it will get from the Centre. On three counts in February, the AP government’s financial fate will be known.

The Centre will accept the 14th Finance Commission’s report in February and Finance Commission will recommend to the Centre how much funds should be sanctioned to AP. The AP government has a lot of expectations pinned on the 14th Finance Commission’s recommendations.

 

The Centre will introduce the supplementary budget in the Parliament in the budget session which is scheduled in the month of February.

 

The state government has requested sanction of funds on various schemes. It had requested funds for seven backward districts in AP. The government has sought around Rs 21,000 crore. AP has also requested release of Rs 15,500 crore to meet the budget deficit and funds of Rs 1,000 crore for the construction of the capital city.

 

The AP government is expecting a financial package from the Centre during the first week of February. It feels that the Centre will make a provision in the supplementary budget in the financial package to the state. The Centre will introduce the annual budget in the Parliament on February 28.

 

The AP government has decided to convene the assembly budget session in the first week of March. It will finalise the annual budget after coming to know the allocations to the state.

AP Finance Minister Yanamala Rama Krishnudu said that the state government will have a clear picture about the financial position of AP and is expecting the Centre to allocate funds to the state.
