phoenixrehabindia
Drug treatment, such as methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone (including a new long-acting formulation) are available for opiate addicts, while preparations of nicotine (patches, gum, lozenges and sprays nasal) and drugs varenicline and bupropion are available for those addicted to drugs available to treat alcohol dependence, one that often co-occurs with other drug users, including addiction to prescription drugs. Treatments for prescription drug abuse tend to be similar to those of illicit drugs that affect the same brain systems. For example, buprenorphine, used to treat heroin addiction, can also be used to treat addiction to opioid analgesics. Addiction to prescription stimulants that affect the same brain systems that illicit stimulants such as cocaine, can be treated with behavioral therapy because it is not yet drugs to treat addiction to these types of drugs. Behavioral therapies can help motivate people to participate in drug treatment, offers strategies for dealing with drug cravings, teach ways to avoid drugs and prevent relapse, and help people to cope with the relapse if it occurs. Behavioral therapies can help people improve communication, relationships and parenting, and family dynamics.
