Telangana Techie Locked Wife, Daughter For 3 Years In Toilet

City Police here have arrested a software Techie ‘Rameswar Rao’ from Telangana, for allegedly locking up his wife and daughter for more than three years in his apartment cutting them with the world outside dissatisfied that his wife gave birth to a girl child.

Police rescued the woman and child after she managed to call her father in Warangal with the help of a neighbor.
The 9 years old little girl, was stripped, physically-abused and locked in the toilet during the period, surviving on a daily ration of just two idlis.

Acording to police Priyanka (32) married to Rameswar Rao on April 4, 2004, a family friend, in their native Warangal. According to Priyanka, things were fine until the sex of her foetus was determined in a scan to be female.
Rameswar was firmly against having a girl child, but Priyanka refused to abort the pregnancy and went to her family. About five years later, Rameswar insisted on a divorce, but the couple reconciled after undergoing marriage counseling.

Not long afterwards, Priyanka gave birth to another child, this time a boy. In a few months, Rameswar moved to Chennai to work in a private software firm in an IT park, trouble escalated after Rameswar’s mother and younger brother moved in to their house.

Priyanka was restrained from venturing out of the house, barred from interacting with neighbours and was not allowed access to the phone. Their daughter was locked up in the toilet even as her younger brother was properly taken care of and sent to school.
