Two robots have officially tied the knot in Tokyo, Japan in what is thought to be the first ever wedding of its kind.

On Saturday, robot groom Frois and robot bride Yukirin were married in a ceremony officiated by the emotional humanoid robot, Pepper (remember him?)

The two machines wore traditional outfits and even shared a kiss to mark the occasion. They cut the cake together after the ceremony too.

The wedding was organized by Maywa Denki, an art collective conceived by two brothers, Masamichi and Novmichi, who designed the groom.

100 people attended the special ceremony, and paid 10,000 yen (£50 / $80) for the privilege, alongside a number of robot guests.

Okay, so it’s all very Futurama but, once again, love wins! Sort of…
