Mishra to Ansari, OUT, looks to sweep from the stumps, misses, and Chris Gaffaney gives it out lbw. Looked out to me, but Broad has reviewed. No edge, I'm pretty sure. Pitched in line, seems to be hitting too. Let's see what ball-tracking says. Pitching on middle or thereabouts, hitting in line, and hitting a large chunk of leg stump. Finally a wicket for Mishra, and finally this innings comes to an end

ZS Ansari lbw b Mishra 32 (83b 3x4 0x6) SR: 38.55

FOW 537/10

India 35/0 (10.0 ov)

8.6

Broad to Vijay, FOUR, and another, Broad thoroughly unchuffed now, a thick outside edge but Vijay kept it down through gully

8.4

Broad to Vijay, FOUR, [MCJ Nicholas voice] golly gosh, that's a shot... Just a push down the ground, really, but Vijay was perfectly balanced, timing the drive back an inch or two past the stumps to long-on. Four more

8.2

Broad to Vijay, FOUR, the monk breaks his vigil, slightly too full and Vijay leans forward to spank it serenely through the covers for four

24.1

Broad to Gambhir, OUT, and he strikes immediately! Gambhir decides not to review, and it just looked out. It was full, angling in sharply, and Gambhir shuffled across to try and work it into the leg side. Despite his open stance, he's got himself in a tangle with his front leg going too far across. He's too late to bring his bat around his front pad, and the ball strikes pad in front of middle and off.

G Gambhir lbw b Broad 29 (72b 4x4 0x6) SR: 40.27

Woakes to Pujara, 1 run, shorter, room to free the arms and dab down in front of point, he takes off straight away and gets home for his hundred at the throw hits at the non-striker's end! He doesn't need to wait for confirmation, knows he was in, off comes the helmet, the noise builds to a powerful crescendo. Lots of people congratulating his dad in the stands, which is nice. Top knock on the maiden Test in his home town

Broad to Vijay, FOUR, good length outside off, Vijay prods at it, thick-edged past the diving slip and that's another hundred for India, the fifth in the match! Vijay leaps to punch the air before getting congratulations from his partner, it's been a marathon effort but he has set the innings up perfectly

Stokes to Pujara, OUT, shortish outside off... and steered straight to wide slip! Cook is the only man in there but he clings on as the ball flew fast at chest-height, tumbling back to end Pujara's stay! He waits briefly as they check the no-ball but Stokes' foot was behind the line and England have a treasured breakthrough, a drop of water in the Gujarati desert...

CA Pujara c Cook b Stokes 124 (206b 17x4 0x6) SR: 60.19

Rashid to Vijay, OUT, got him, turned straight to short leg, Vijay's vigil is over minutes before the close! Rashid has a wicket at last, picks up the opener with the googly, he went with it and could only pop it off the face of the bat straight to the man under the helmet

M Vijay c Hameed b Rashid 126 (301b 9x4 4x6) SR: 41.86

FOW 318/3
