appatlo okadundevadu review

Any movie’s success depends on its story. A movie with a good and honest story will never fail to impress the audiences. Appatlo Okadundevadu is also no exemption. The film has a story inspired by some actual incidents that happened between 1992 and 1996 in Hyderabad. The director has cleverly made use of all those events and marked them as boundaries for his story. He then started weaving a story by creating a fictional character called Railway Raju and portrayed his struggle and survival within those boundaries. As a story, this is not a great one, but as life, it is more than that. The story portrays the life of an ordinary man whose life undergoes drastic changes because of certain situations that he was not involved in. In simple words, the film narrates the life of Railway Raju who lived between 1992 and 1996.

The situation between 1992and 1996 was very critical in Andhra Pradesh, especially in Hyderabad. Naxal Vs Police was a day to day war during that time. On the other side, at the national level, there was Economic liberalisation. How both these factors showed an impact on Railway Raju was showed beautifully on screen. The way director Sagar Chandra linked the events and real incidents happened at that time is brilliant. He carried the emotion very well throughout the movie. The major plus point of the film is the director staying genuine and being honest to his story. He did not try to include usual stuff in the movie. The screenplay has a new angle that we have never seen on Telugu screen. Appatlo Okadundevadu is certainly one best piece of writing in the recent times. Cooking up a good story and narrating it through an unconventional style of screenplay is the best part of the film. The film has many wow moments, and there is not even a single scene that we feel boring or forced. That is the magic of Sagar’s screenplay in the film.

Coming to the performances in the movie, Both Nara Rohith and Sree Vishnu delivered good performances in the movie. Both of the actors registers their characters very well with the audiences. Sree Vishnu as Railway Raju is natural. His performance in climax scenes came out well. Nara Rohit as an honest police officer puts a good performance on screen. He can be proud of the role he played in the film. The female lead Taniya Hope fails to impress. Brahmaji acted well, especially in the climax sequence. Srinivas Reddy shines in an interesting role. Rajiv Kanakala plays an exciting role. Manasa Hima Varsha is good as Naxal Ahalya.

The dialogues are good. The songs composed by Sai Karthik are pleasant. The background score of the film by Suresh is fantastic. All the pivotal scenes elevated in the movie with his excellent background score. The Cinematography of Naveen Yadav is nice. The editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is good. The major advantage of the film is its run time which is 124 minutes. Prashanti & Krishna Vijay produced the film on Aran Media Works. The production values of the movie are okay.
