As sad as this crime was - the US is still largely a very safe country  and the  financial commitments of many Indians who live here towards their families back home will keep them rooted here.

I think Trump is partially responsible for this racism man, he is a powerful man no doubt about it, however he for one was definitely not able to contain his inner tempers regarding americans first and all. which is why so much hatred which was under so many racists skin is surfacing at the moment. That 51 year old culprit has never done it before and am pretty sure he was under that influence of alcohol that you were quoting many a times before this incident. if it were for obama or some other presidents before obamas regime this much hatred against desis was totally an unknown element. Why are these kinda incidents surfacing against desis now??
