This is a confusion.. extension file chesinapudu start date petition pampina roju nunchi istaru even though we have valid petition for next 6mo.. so when uscis decides to reject petition, doesn't it mean the requested stay for timelines mentioned is denied?

not true. On your petition, start date will be a future date (day of existing H-1 expiry) for extension

NOT TRUE.. LCA file chesinapudu current dates tho chestaru so is extension...lets say 6mo before h1 extension cheste LCA dates aa future date petti apply cheyaleru.

ippudu kothaga extension reject ithey previous petition ni kuda reject chesi pampisthunaru... so no chance of using old H1... happened with my collegue... he have stamping as well for old H1B but have to leave the country in 10 days after you receive the rejection/denial letter from USCIS... Denial letter lo clear ga mention chesaru old and extnesion rendu reject chesamu yo have to leave ani..

Thats a exceptional case la undi. Extension reject iythe previous h1 end date varaku undochu, can find new employer or reapply..
