Sense8. What a show!!

Its utter crap, plot wise. more like a sci fi short fantasy stretched out to some 20hrs, with liberal doses of all sorts of soft p0rn scenes.

but boy! when it hits the right notes, it hits it outside the park. It exposes the limitations of

1. audio visual medium in constructing set pieces for a story of this magnitude. couple of them are nice, and that's what makes this series so likeable.

2. plotting with diversity/queerness as the prime focus. Most of the moments come across as cheesy, and play off as stereotypes (although good stereotypes) of how gays and queers act.

The African and Indian part of the series, were cringe worthy. especially when Anupam Kher is on the scene, and the scenes were set in Africa with the protagonist's family.

The director obviously is out of his depth here.

but thankfully, the entire action moves to Europe in the finale, and Anupam Kher doesn't make an appearance, which makes the Indian/African part infinitely better in the finale. Yay!!!

It even ends with the Indian 'Husband' starting a three way relationship with his wife's lover. Wow. what an ending to a boring triangle love story. Absolutely awesome!!!!

But I feel slightly bad for the husband, because while he calls his wife 'love', she calls him 'husband'. :3D_Smiles_216:

why man? why? director so eager to break traditions in representation of white people, but want to stick to tradition when it comes to India va? hehe..

Hinduism as is sh1t as any other culture ba. Next time, hope she's kind to Hindus too, and show them as, as edgy as possible.

If director needs inspiration, she should avoid the upper class suburbs in Indian cities like plague, and directly go to the working class ones, where one can find all sorts of interesting, imaginative, and awesome people.

look at the film 'Madras' in Tamil.

The scope of this series so huge, that it can be filmed for a 100 seasons, if each characters were explored in greater depth.

instead we get regular action sequences, and some lame hacking scenes, where victory is celebrated queer style. by hugging and dancing. lol.

But I must say its heart warming to see many of my friends who are, infact queer, and are picked on at every given opportunity, have cheerful positive representations of them on screen. even though its not how they act all the time.

Sense8 is a show for such people. and for people like me who wants to see them be happy.

Nomi is the best character in the show, which is not saying much, because even she ticks off all the stereotypes of trans - genius coders, extremely empathetic people, etc.

but her wedding vow in the finale made me cry. :3D_Smiles_216:

The wachowskis are insanely talented commercial movie makers.

just that,  they are extremely ambitious, and fall short of their target everytime.

except with 'The Matrix'.
