A latest survey conducted by popular media house India Today has revealed that the National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party will retain power if the latter has an alliance with the YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh and some other parties down south.

The survey – Mood of the Nation – says the NDA would be falling short of at least 30 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, as the Opposition parties are trying to come together to form a grand alliance.

It will end up with 220 seats out of 540 seats of Lok Sabha. However, if parties like YSRC and AIADMK join the BJP bandwagon, the NDA will be comfortably home with more than 255 seats, the survey said.

If Telangana Rashtra Samithi of Telangana and Biju Janata Dal also join the BJP alliance, then, the NDA would cross the absolute mark and get around 280 seats, the survey said.

But the question is whether YSRC can afford to join hands with the BJP before elections. If it happens, there would be more damage to the party than any benefit, as the people are angry with the BJP.

However, if Jagan can get a written commitment from the BJP over special category status, then it might improve its chances of winning more MP seats, say sources.

BJP will easily cross 272, even if they haven't delivered all that has been promised, they are still better any other party at this time

people will come to their senses during elections, media manipulation will not work as in 2014
