They ask him to go back when he visited Muskhanipeta

TRS legislator from Manakondur, Rasamayi Balakishan, had to face embarrassing moments when he visited LMD Colony here on Thursday night to take part in Dasara celebrations.

The local youth objected to his visit stating that the event was an apolitical one. Some of them started shouting ‘go back’ and others quickly joined in.

Flash protest

Sensing trouble, the police whisked away two youth, who began sloganeering against the legislator as they were in an inebriated condition. A flash protest ensued against the arrest of the youth, following which Mr. Balakishan was forced to leave the place.

Mr. Balakishan faced a similar situation at Muskhanipeta in Illanthakunta mandal on Wednesday when he visited the village to take part in Bathukamma celebrations.

The local youth obstructed his entry to the village and grilled him over his absence during the unveiling of the statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Jyotirao Phule in the village two months ago.

Asked to go back when they visited villages as part of election campaign

The decades-old scenes of confronting MLAs in villages are seen again, now that the elections are around. The locals expressing ire over MLAs not visiting their villages even once in their four-and-a-half year term has become a commonplace.

At least two MLAs of the ruling TRS in the dissolved Assembly have faced the brunt of public anger in the last one week. The van in with Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik and her supporters were travelling was stopped by villagers at Badampalli village in Jannaram mandal of Mancherial district. The villagers were angry that Ms. Naik remembered them only now.

At Enumamula in Warangal, Wardhannapet MLA, Aroori Ramesh, was heckled by a large group of youth when he had gone there to inaugurate a party office. The crowd displayed a banner with the writing that the legislator had no right to seek votes as he did nothing for the village. They shouted ‘go back’ at him.

Hyderabad: The villagers of Choppadandi Assembly area of Karimnagar protested and expressed their wrath when TRS MLA, Ms. Shobha visited the village to muster support for the next election. She was forced to go back without addressing the public.

When Ms. Shobha reached the village, the residents told her in clear terms, “We won’t vote TRS, don’t come to our village”.

The anger of the people is due to non-fulfillment of promises made by TRS leaders.

It is reported that during the past four years, Ms. Shobha did not pay heed to the development of the village. The villagers told her that their area was not developed and hence, TRS leaders have no right to seek vote. The residents complained that the cheques of CM’s relief fund did not reach the beneficiaries. Govt. formulated farmers’ committees but non farmers were included in them. People raised the slogans, “Go back Shobha”. However, the former MLA made an attempt to pacify the villagers but it proved ineffective.

Vexed with such situations, the caretaker CM, Mr. KCR had been contacting the candidates advising them to be patient.

In the same manner, former TRS MLA, Ms. G. Sunitha also faced the wrath of voters in Turkapally Village of Aler. Seeing the angry mood of the people, Ms. Sunitha told them, “If you don’t like me, don’t cast vote in my favour, it won’t affect me”.

In Khanapur Assembly constituency, people criticized Ms. Rekha Naik for neglecting developmental works.

TRS faced similar public wrath in Manakondur, Wardhannapet, Peddapalli etc.
