By NewsCentral Staff On Feb 5, 2019 Last updated Feb 5, 2019 Credits: Twitter/Mirch9 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah was reportedly left embarassed on Monday, February 4, when no members of the general public turned up for a meeting organised by the party state unit in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. As per a report in The Hans India, BJP state unit had selected Palasa town in the district to flag-off the party’s bus yatra. However, when the party supremo reached Palasa, no one except party activists turned up for the public meeting. The report also mention that there was a tense atmosphere at Kasibugga bus station where Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters had gathered to protest Shah’s visit to the state and were questioning Shah’s moral authority in light of the BJP failing to fulfil its promises made to the state. In March 2018, TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) citing that the BJP had not come through on its commitments towards the state. The Hans India report added that after facing protests from TDP activists and the poor response of the general public in the area, Shah finally called off the public meeting and ended up addressing only the small gathering or party workers and activists. Shah flagged-off the party’s bus yatra as part of its campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Reportedly, he has received a similar cold shoulder from residents in other parts of the state that he visited. CBN gaadi Rajahmundry BC sabha marchipoyava musaloda?
