Anta Assamey
In the 2014 elections, five members from YS Jagan's family contested the polls. Except YSRCP's honourary president YS Vijaya Lakshmi, all the four i.e, Jagan, Avinash Reddy, Ravindranath Reddy, YV Subba Reddy have won the election. Ahead of the 2019 elections, a debate has started about how many will once again contest from YS family. It appears that Jagan's mother Vijaya Lakshmi may not contest this time and in place of her, Jagan is contemplating to rope in his sister Sharmila. But the party is highly critical that Jagan may not allot ticket to her and it is only him who can decide the fate of Sharmila's political aspirations. There is no second thoughts about Avinash, Ravindranath and Subba Reddy's ticket and they will be contest from the same constituencies. While this debate is going on at one end, the party is also discussing that this time, it will be only Jagan who will campaign the elections all over Andhra Pradesh. This appears to be a strategic move and Jagan is said to be taking advise from party senior leaders regarding the same. But this trick has other consequences too. If YSRCP by chance wins, Jagan might propagate it as his sole victory and there won't be second leader in the party. For sometime, no one may raise their voice against Jagan, but in politics team work is needed. Overall, Jagan is trying to make his stamp on the party and 2019 elections are testing waters for his stamina.
