Jessie, the film which didn’t make much noise with promotions, has hit the screens today. Let’s see the review of the Jessie which is claimed to be a horror film.

Cast: Abhinav Gomatam, Atul Kulkarni, Kabir Duhan Singh, Pavani Gangireddy

Director: V Ashwani Kumar

Jessie Story:

A group of professional ghost hunters, who searches for a house in which two sisters Jessie and Amy went missing, will find the house and experience some weird things happening around. Who are these sisters? Will ghost hunters solve the mystery? If they solve it, how? All these form the rest of the story.

Jessie Review:

Ashima Narwal performed well as she gets a meaty role. Her acting skills in few scenes will be seen clearly on the screen. The girl, who played Amy’s role, impressed everyone by doing a decent job as a physically challenged person.

Archana will be seen in a crucial role and her appearance has a twist. She did well. Abhinav Gomatam made people laugh in the first half. Pavani, Abhishek, and Purnima, who played ghost hunters are okay in their roles.

Though Jessie is claimed to be a horror film, there are more twists and turns, especially in the second half, which disappoints horror lovers. Bollywood actors Atul Kulkarni and Kabhir Duhan Singh have nothing much to do.

Director Ashwani Kumar’s execution was good but lacks proper narration in the second half. Editing and Cinematography are good. The film looks rich and scenes in dark are captured perfectly. Background score by Sricharan Pakala is impressive. Though Jessie is a limited budget film, production values are good.

What’s good:

  • Execution
  • Actors Performance
  • Editing
  • BGM

What’s Bad:

  • A few actors are not utilized properly
  • Fewer horror scenes

What’s Okay:

  • A good number of twists
  • Screenplay

Verdict: This psychological horror thriller is mainly for the people who love the thrill and expects more twists and turns. If you are free this weekend, you can give a try!
