maa thaatha (maternal) dayyal vidichipenche vaadu--not full time like some folks who make a living of it. janaal borgulu, pappul and tenkaaya teeskocche vaaru. Appudu eeyana edo mantral sadavadam, appudu avatala patient voice change kavaadam, edo maataldam. A question answer session: em kaaval, enduku occhinav, sometimes, they abuse each other--like sanja enduku occhinav, etc. Anyway, I found all these episodes funny.

evado oka saadhu maa thaatha bhujam lo koddiga kosi oka copper plate lo mantraal raasi, tarvaata kuttesindu. aa effect endanti, even at 1 am, oora kukkal kooda em anav, ayyani, nadchukunta potunte. Just these street dogs stop barking when he passes them to visit fields.  This i witnessed it. I also touched his shoulder where this taayattu is sewed in. As a teen, when I asked a lots of questions since I was curious, my grandma warned him to not tell any stories of this sort.

Another story: my younger brother's high school classmate. She comes from a next village, 1.5 kms away. Students from that village go for lunch and come back to ZPPH school.  On that road, there is a neem tree and an agricultiral baavi (open well) behind it (my senior's mom committed suicide in that well when he was 11 months old--local story). Oka saari, ee pori lunch ain tarvaata class ki occhindi. Then started crying, and her way of talking resembles an old lady. Akkada evado oka muslim teacher unde. vaadu edo vacchi, matladindu. Appudu, ee pori(old lady) seppindi. aa neem tree nunchi ee pori meeda padda. Edo chicken kaavali, akali ani. This voice change was eye witnessed by all her 9th grade classmates. Anyway, when we went to India last Dec, my bro inquired about her in village. Head that she got married to some army solider, then she committed suicide.

Vichitam emi tante, e place la aithe ee pori meeda dayyam dukindo, daani pakkane, maaku 4 acres land undi kooda. Nenu high school unnappadu, paddy crop harvesting time la, nenu, ma paternal grandpa tho kalsi akkada padukune vaallam. Ma grandpa used to leave me alone at 430 am, and went back to home. This was a common routine. I never experienced this deyyam nonsense. So far in  my life, I have not experienced this stuff. However, when people tell me there is some dayyam at so and so remote place, when I was bicyling on that road around 9 pm, I became more sensitive to surrounding sounds--this focussing because of the stupid stories creates more problems.

Another story. This happens outside of my home in village. We have a huge backyard, as in old days, we had buffalos, oxen, etc. We have an open well too. My maternal grandma whenever she used to visit us, used to tell us that she hears "gajjala" sounds. I used to sleep outside on those village cots. I never experienced this nonsense. Some others confirmed that they felt some presence: one time, my bro's friend and his wife came from hyd for some party; power cut, so they went to sleep in their big suv in the backyard. Around 1 am or so, the couple felt that someone was making rounds around their car, and watching them, touching the car windows. Both got freaked out and went back inside our home to sleep.

My other brother said he heard some gajjal sounds when he was in 10th grade, as he was preparing for 10th exams along with two other friends. Even friends confirmed this. However, I have a different explanation for confirmation by friends: whenever you become too sensitive, when it is super quiet, even your friends confirm whatever you say: this is a known illusion. I don't want to dismiss these people's experiences: my maternal grandm, my brother and his high school friends; my brother's older friends.  Never ever I have experienced it myself in my home.

We have a pedda putta (anthill) on one corner of our backyard, which we don't use, as it is sandwiched between an open well and another building we used to house oxen. This anthill been there for some 50 years or even longer.  A couple of years ago, my neighbor wanted to dig in to lay foundation for his building. He ended up digging one side of this anthill. On the same day, one ox of theirs died without showing any symptoms at all. Ma oorla explanation idi: that guy dug that anthill; so, this ox died.  My maternal grandma used to say there was some gold underneath this anthill.  Anyway, I feel this (gold under anthill) is another nonsense.
