Today's lo even in arranged marriage, both parties are giving ample freedom to bride and groom to make the final call. I think its not the arrange marriage system is to be blamed. 

1. Its the criteria that a person has in mind for selecting a partner.

2. Not completely knowing about themselves and what they want in a partner is to be blamed.

Most love marriages are not like that. In fact, love marriages result in poorer outcomes for the bride for the most part.

Sometimes people are not capable enough to choose the perfect partner like ammayi baavundi ani love. Or similar interests like u watch marvel, I watch game of thrones type. These are not the qualities that sustain the relationship in longterm.

in urban places parents give enough freedom to interact in person. but it's not same in town and villages 

both girl and boy have absolutely no idea of what they want because they have never been with other gender in their life. 

you may not realize but some people are a generation behind with their regressive thoughts
