probably u dont know Us does need to implement these schemes as they already have so many welfare schemes

Why are they still fighting for universal basic income then? Do you know what UBI will do the US economy? It will cost two and a half trillion dollars to implement per year. That is all the money they have in a year. You give UBI and then what? What about people who are actually in need?

What nonsense,

Exactly why moron like RaviShankar Prasad brought up movie ticket sales.

Both are irrelevant.

ParleG sales are down but other confectioneries sales have gone up.

Still, none of these relevant indicators.

Both the groups, the ParleG as well as Movie ticket sales one are stupid and are plain-speaking for showmanship.

And you think India does not?

Dude, India spends more money on welfare schemes than USA.

Again, that's not what Abhijit Benerjee is speaking about.

He is talking about Universal Income. Last I was in USA, it's not there. Not sure if things have changed in the last few months. If they have please appraise everyone.

Strange you don't address the elephant in the room.- increase in taxes, Wealth Tax and Higher GST taxes.

Are you ok with all of them? Since that's what Benerjee is stating. He want's YOU to pay for NYAY scheme and keep your mouth shut about it.

Taxing the middle class and running welfare schemes is what Scandinavian/ Northern European countries are doing. It looks really good on the surface, but such a thing will not create upward mobility for the middle class. For example, @kevinUsa came to the US for higher studies because he can afford it. If universal income came into being, this guy wouldn’t have been able to afford the ticket cost. It may look good for some rich countries, but those countries were never looted by foreigners. Those countries already have world class infrastructure in place - mostly due to wealth garnered from robbing third world countries. They will create stupid happiness indexes too to show off. It is like rubbing salt into the wounds of those they robbed from. Imbeciles will not understand.

These economists are basically extreme left, socialists who invariably end up destroying economies.

As a contrarian, Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh who won Noble is the way to go.

He empowered people with MicroCredits and MicroFinance, which caused upward mobility in poorest of sections without the attached Stigma associated with Freebies.

Morons who celebrate frauds like Amaryta Sen and Benerjee are the first one who would kill themselves if their policies were ever implemented in countries they are living in.
