Rather than trusting an unknown force, trust yourself, and forget about things that are not in your hands.

when things are not in your hands... thats when you put your faith in an unknown force (God, luck, nature, whatever you want to name it)... how do you "trust yourself" when things are not in your hands

Always believe in yourself is good

trust in the unknown makes a lot happen when combined though

You trust yourself, because the unknown force or whatever people call it these days, is actually inside you. That's basically the end of spirituality, when you realize that "you" are what will help you. The point of prayer, spiritualism and everything is when you realize that "you" are what people refer to as God. That's why we should just trust ourselves and leave the rest.

except you said "forget about things that are not in your hands" ... which means no point in trusting yourself (you even asked to forget about it) as things are beyond your control

key here is that "forgetting about it" is not easy.. people take different ways of dealing with it.. some imagine delegating it to a higher power.. and that's ok i think

No, what I said is to not worry about things that are not in your hand. Reading hanuman chalisa won't do anything, if you don't understand the meaning of it. Hanuman is the embodiment of the courage in one's soul. So, when you read hanuman chalisa, all you're doing is praising the courage inside you, isn't that the same as trusting yourself? Trusting the courage inside you. That's why the end of spirituality is finding God inside you.

some can forget it and they can just be "happy go lucky" type people, they also dont think about much leave everything to fate, destiny, nature, luck or God.. ...

but catalpha said trust yourself but not some higher power for things that are not under your control... first thing is how can you trust yourself when you know that the situation is not under YOUR OWN control... you can either choose to trust or not trust the higher power but the flaw in the argument is asking someone to trust themselves when clearly the statement says its beyond their control.

thats your interpretation and not everyone thinks the same way... many people think Hanuman will bless them and save them, whats your point?

When you trust that someone else or something else will save you, you won't necessarily do everything you possibly can to get to where you want to get. Because, you are trusting that something else will help you. But if you trust yourself, you will do the best you can, because you alone should help yourself to get where you want to get to.

you are going in circles ... I already pointed out the wording that the "situation is beyond your reach" or "not in your control"....

give it a rest
