Bagane doola teertundi maintainance and cleaning ki. Malli furniture ki EMIs okati. Madhyalo taatha pette lolli okati.

I paid PMI for 1yr.. 350 per month. So total of 4200. Aa one year lo illu 150k perigindi. If I had waited till I save enough to avoid PMI, I would have paid atleast 200-300k more for the same house.

Keeping everything aside.. once you own a home you tend to buy stuff that you don’t actually need.. expenses will grow significantly if the house size is bigger..

Illu konukkovadam is a good thing. In my case, my mortgage payment is less than rent and so it is a straight forward decision.

For Furniture, I spent about 10K or so.

Lawn mowing, pest control, termite control, Insurance,... untayi. Electricity/gas ekkuva untadi when compared to rental apt.

If you are paying PMI and EMI better stay away from it.

House should be an asset not a burden. You start working for the bank. DON'T EVER DO THAT.

If you invest the same amount you are paying now as EMI for furniture in index funds, that can easily build asset at least not a depreciating asset for longterm.

Furniture after few years is worth cents.

Naaku 5-7k lo ayipoyindi motham.

Bed, night stand and chest came up to $1800 for me. If you have 3-4 bed rooms, living room and a personal office, it will cost a pretty penny.
