He doesn’t know facts, Kerala TN or Andhra are evangelists are upper caste people Dalits will be limited to followers kaani pastor bishop kindha edhaganivvaru

I don't think that's factual. It depends on which xian sect they convert to. plenty of dalit pastors in TN in many evangelist churches. evangelists are comprised of various groups.

Ruth Manorama, herself a part of the Dalit Christian Liberation movement and founder of Women’s Voice and the Dalit Women’s Federation, Bangalore, spoke to Teesta Setalvad on the issue of caste within the Indian church and the un-addressed plight of Dalit Christians.

What about the question of Dalit Christians and women among them?
Of the 20 million Christians in India today, some 160–170 million are Dalits. However, the power within the Church still lies with the upper castes that control all the institutions of better education. So, it is true in a sense that the Church in large part has remained within the control of the upper castes.

Yes. in the end Xianity and Islam both suffer the same divisions that Hinduism does in India.

caste is the social unit in India. it is inescapable.

lets see if capitalism can eradicate caste. I don't think it can, inspite of what balisina kodis in cities claim. It'll help caste stay in the background and get more powerful while being invisible.

A senior priest from Kerala’s Jacobite Syrian Christian Church recently put the spotlight on the fact that some Christians in the state practice the caste system, when he announced that he would henceforth stay away from traditional family gatherings organised by members of the Church.

In Kerala, some financially sound Syrian Christian families organise annual family meetings, which are attended by prominent priests. The bishop of Niranam Diocese, Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, said that these meetings were organised to “proclaim the artificially cultivated upper-caste identity and lineage” and he would not like to be part of this tradition any more.

There's not one trend all over India.. for ex. in the north east, christians are mostly tribbal.

I'm not fully aware of how caste works within xianity.. but I know that caste divisions exist and am not gonna deny it. From my casual observations and talking to people, entire villages convert into one sect, and use their leverage to get aid from abroad.

It is possibly true that catholic, protestant churches (and its offshoots like pentecostal) won't allow for lower caste bishops, but xianity in India is diverse. and they are all not from the same block.
