Lack of production is not the issue, its lack of purchase capability among indians and lack of delivery capability of indian state.

also add the full abilities of minorities delivering too many babies, yes the state has failed in delivering good but successful in letting these minorities deliver babies

Lack of private competition is an issue. Private players have to sell so they will find ways to deliver it to the people. Quite why so many farmers are allowed in India is beyond me.

Bro delivery is completely in private hands. some of it very large corporates like reliance fresh. Farmers are not "allowed" - in any poor society be default most people engage in agriculture. succesful countries manage to move farmers in to more profitable industry and service sector. india is perhaps the only country in the world where cultivators in absolute n umber (not percentage) have actually increased in modern era. The country is an utter failure in servicing its people. Neither can it remove social divisions like caste nor can it deliver prosperity to people.

Countries that are prosperous have farming in private hands. Take China or USA, there are some very big food companies guiding their economies. They moved farmers to the service sector only after giving control to these players. Indian policy has always been “kisan bachao”. Very regressive and not suitable for a large country like India.

I am talking about corporates. Production should also be in the hands of  them. Let them influence the government. These small guys cannot do anything.

No country has a fair market for agri products. It is subsidized everywhere. Without subsidies food prices will skyrocket. Even in other countries. Especially in Europe where food is controlled by a few corporations that receive millions of euros in subsidies to keep the prices artificially low.

Utlimately these small guys are consumers of what those corporates manufacture. What can they buy if they are out of work ?

It's all the same as far as govt expenditure towards food subsidies go.

read about fairtrade. Farmers have more control over what they produce.

I always wondered how these ranks are determined…. Do they go to villages and check who is hungry?
economic rankings are easy to give… based on economic activity/output…
