Bengaluru is also pretty welcoming , infact it must have the least amount of native speakers

Chennai - not so much , that's why it is relatively stagnated.

Bengaluru is a veteran in this game of welcoming migrants. This city probably has the highest creamy migrants from all over the country.

I remember Bangalore of Mid-90’s..apudu kuda better places to eat were all run by Anatapur and Nellore people.

Kerala is the most migrant friendly state in India. Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh come next. Telangana scores less than national average in Interstate migration index.

https://indiamigrationnow.org/impex-2019/

Ofcourse most of you are only talking about IT guys and other white collared people.

Bangalore has the highest out of state migrants (mostly because its bordering 3 states may be). at 30%

Hyderabad, Chennai, and to an extent even Mumbai hover around 10%. but this data is only until 2011. I don't expect much to have changed, and Hindi won't even be a factor other than for a small section of white collar workers making the switch.

People just go where the jobs are. They don't do extensive research on liveability of a city before taking up the job, unless they are in the top creamy layer in society. those people don't matter that much in the grand scheme of things.

A lot of builders / contractors migrated there in the 70s to 90s from Nellore

Anatapur people are more in number due to proximity but not many businessmen

Creamy migrants part is 100% true , most of the tech R&D jobs in india are in bengaluru , perhaps more than rest of india combined

That's true kerala has so many north indian workers , the govt tried to integrate them well into society

Also workers are actually treated well unlike rest of the states where cheating north india labourers is common place

Rajasthan ? I have no clue

Hyderabad must have had a lot of high income+ low income  migration in last ten years .

Andhra Pradesh is also pretty welcoming , krishnapatnam has atleast 10k north indians working , sricity also has few thousand of them .

They actually bring a lot of value to the places , they work hard  , do not get involved in  trouble .

Hyderabad, like all cities in India, attracts people from its own towns than its villages. Its interstate migration (if you consider Andhra migration as intrastate) is about the same level as other cities.

so saying HIndi is some kind of Trump card that makes Hyderabad more friendly than others doesn't bear out in reality. No one cares about Hindi. Even Chennai people try to speak in Hindi these days.. it doesn't magically make Chennai more friendly.

also bangalore is not 'welcoming' to its migrants. I don't know what it even means. It just has a lot of jobs that people aspire to. Hyderabad also has a lot of jobs. Thats it. I'd say Mumbai Kolkata are a lot more welcoming

according to the index.. Kerala is just best among the Indian states, which is not saying much. Other  states are bottom of the barrel.

It’s official now, Hyderabad is the most expensive city in India after Bombay

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.siasat.com/hyderabad-the-second-most-expensive-real-estate-market-in-india-2210942/amp/

sounds like a PR puff piece.

Hyderabad real estate is cheaper (comparitively), and it has flexible FSI, which gives the builders the greatest bang for their buck, if they could get their buildings approved.

It being the second most expensive real estate market in India sounds like a joke.

Chennai market is suppressed due to strict FSI rules , our relatives gave anna nagar property for development they were only allowed four floors

The same place in Hyderabad would have fetched atleast 50% more built up area

nope. Strict FSI rules are only a small part of the problem. Chennai's focus on Automobiles, compared to the growing pharma etc means Chennai is not a magnet the way it used to be. Its also too conservative to catch the startup gravy train.

But Chennai is still solid as a city (by Indian standards). It'll grow at its own pace, and is not 'stagnating'. Its people are not Tamil hugging bigots like the rest of India thinks they are. They are just way more modest than Hyd or Blr that are young
