Yea - you can sell it as cheap livestock feed to china in the worst case. but rice generally is too valuable. store it - some year it might be very valuable. Govt must invest in good storage and good transportation to this storage.

Yes - govt should pay. Because they do that in Punjab as well. "overproduction" is just your judgement. Any resourceful person can use the stock anywhere. As a datapoint reference china produces 3 times our food grains despite having same population and is still a food importer. why do you think so ?

China produces doesn't mean that it isn't using for something else. India cannot randomly start using excess grains. States cannot overproduce and expect money whenever.. Dora is clearly at fault for not guiding TG farmers here. In fact he has misguided TG population by painting a rosy picture about Agriculture. Instead of educating his rural population ( whose literacy rate stands at 45%), he has driven people to the fields. Moreover, having so many farmers is not good for the country. Off with them yeah.

Dude - 70% of this country are farmers. If farmers are not safeguarded then whats the point in having a country. Farmers are not asking for freebies - they are basically asking for something like an insurance - give them a guarantee that their hardwork will be remunerated at a fair price (which itself is pretty low). MSP and govt procurement are NON negotiable.

We can discuss how to best manage the procured task and ideation around it.

I am not saying farmers must not to do industrial jobs (assala jobs evi ?) but transition must be supported and painless. its not unreasonable. They are asking bare minimum for hard work they already put in.

If I start digging a hole in my field in search of water and later on don’t find it, should the govt pay for my hard work too? Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it. Farming is the biggest bane plaguing India right now. Quite why so many farmers should exist in India is beyond me. Back in the day it may have made some sense. Right now we have millions of badly educated businessmen called farmers. They neither have the resources nor the acumen to run something like this. Most of the time they are in the dark with respect to demand. They are just producing without thinking it through because some selfish politician has told them to. The country just came out of a pandemic with most of its resources stretched and you want it to shell out more money and cover for the mistake of a local politician? Doesn’t make sense at all. Dora took the decision, let him pay.

Try growing your own food. is not govt paying for all those govt employees who barely do $hit? paying for those flying $hitcans (rafale from france) which may never be used ? providing land banks to industries which may or may not thrive ?building bridges and roads which fat cats like you may or may NOT drive your big fat SUV? then why cant it mitigate some risks for farmers using some resources ?

Farmers are the most bailed out businessmen in India. Every state govt gives them incentives and has some sort of a debt relief program. This has been going on for years all with tax payer’s money. It is time we all realize that having agriculture in the hands of these incompetent businessmen is not good for the well being of the country. This industry is also the reason why so much of India is illiterate. Let us stop glorifying it and more importantly let us stop bailing out these people every year.

You are talking complete meaningless now based on some ideological driven hate. far more incentives go to line govt employees and defense contractors. This so called "incentive" puts food on your plate and allows a farmer and his family to live with some dignity.

yem lekkala ra nayana. 1 crore tonnes is 18,000 crore not 50,000 crore as per MSP. Also you are talking as if govt will waste the entire 1 crore tonne of rice. market price of good quality of 1 crore tone rice is 45,000 crore. Govt can easily get some money back. There may be loss but it will be definetely far less than 18,000 crore.

even that 18000 Crore is tax payer money. no demand in market. govt. is throwing away rice after storing 10 years in warehouse. no demand from international market. 50k crore lekka ki oka formula undi based on how long FCI store that rice.

RSS is terrorist organization. it should be banned. people need to realize that BJP is not a democratice party that listen people. it is a diktator party. It will crush democracy media or any uprising. face it bro. People need to stop voting for BJP. it does not have creative people to find markets for agriculture produce. it has criminals like amit shah, dumbers like modi, dumbest like yogi kind people. I respect farmers. Instead of giving subsidies to Ambani Adani, BJP govt should give those subsidies and benefits to farmers.

What ideological hate lol? It is inefficient right now. Many people are being misled by clueless politicians.  If a company is overproducing then it will go bankrupt if there is no demand for their product. The problem here is that the company is being bailed out every single year. Farming should be done in a controlled manner on things that the country needs. It is also important that people be brought out of this inefficient industry. It will help the people in it more.
