Lot of people from Telangana are actually from Andhra Pradesh. Vallani ee basket lo count cheyalo telika ala chesaru. Until you renew your passport, you are from Andhra Pradesh even if you came from Telangana.

Indian Americans—especially members of the first generation—tend to socialize with other Indian Americans. Internally, the social networks of Indian Americans are more homogenous in terms of religion than either Indian region (state) of origin or caste.

So there are as many people that speak Telugu in America, as there as people that speak Gujarati. And, Telugu is the most commonly spoken language among Indian Americans.

No, if you came to America before 2014, your passport will say Andhra Pradesh even if you are from Telangana. That's why I think people from Telangana are put in the basket of Andhra Pradesh. I believe that together, they are 14%.

Many kids who were born in  Hyderabad to Andhra migrants also classified as Andhra people

The survey for this smaple is pretty low since we have such a high variance .

Real figures will be 50-50 or 40-60 at best
