Popular Post siva604
My kid is 21months old now and we visited doctor when he was 18months for his regular checkup and they asked us to fill some M-chart where there were some questions like is he responding to his name, Is he talking more than 4 words, Is he bringing the toys that you ask for, guesters etc., we replied no for most of the questions and his pediatrician suggested saint david's for Autism evaluation to get it confirmed and its of 12months waiting period so we didn't even try it and there were some gov services where someone come to our home and evaluate and train us by saying us to do improvements on how we learn the stuff to our kid but it was not useful for us since its again done by us so we moved to AZ to see if there are any resources here and hunting for good services for his treatment, my son is good at motor skills like walking, running , jumping, climbing steps, climbing furniture's but he is not good at communication like he is not caring at all for what we talk or ask him or if someone who is pretty new for him he doesn't wants to play with them or even with other kids and he is only seeing us sometimes when we call his name and not all the times and he always watch corners in the room with his eyes corners and see all the sides as if someone is calling him from the walls and he responds to very small music and comes to tv or phone when its playing in fraction of seconds but he doesn't respond to us at all even if we call him multiple times, he started spinning rounds and laughing from past 3 days very frequently and always wants to play alone, We didn't know anything about autism or autism characteristics until we visited his 18months checkup and I was going through online forums, questions etc and found most of things what he had done past to 18months age also matched with my son's behaviour like making us opening box's or putting our fingers or hands to press some toys , was speaking some meaning words at the age of 13-15 and now he stopped and not talking even single word, speech delays, not exactly sure what is repetitive behaviors but he always want to play with toys in sameway and while sleeping he always put his bedsheet in his mouth to go to sleep kind of habit, Please suggest on how to deal with this to get him normal like other kids, Any suggestions groups or any help in any way is highly appreciated. These are all signs of ASD. Going to India- waste of time IMHO. Sooner the therapy the better the outcome. I told the same thing to my sister about my niece- She has hand flapping and hit someone in park when she was 2 yr old. They were in Mumbai at that time. They came to my hometown Kadapa thinking that mingling and playing with kids make her better. Then COvid hit. She never received therapy. Now they moved to Hyd. Evaluated by Dr. Chakravarthy Kalyan. I was there for visit. She is 6 yr old no speech , occasional tantrums, no proper eye contact. Going for therapy everyday. I am telling all this to not to scare you. I have your kids best intersts in my mind. Be strong! Good luck. 2

I have been there and my kid is on the sever side. your kid might be on the moderate side since he had words and regressed, accept it and dont worry you are not alone. First AZ lo primary doc appointment tesukoni, referral teesko diagnosis ki. Call insurance and find out neuropsychologist in your area who can do the diagnosis and accepts your insurance. In the mean while look for the Autism Therapy centers around your area and find out if they have any any waiting list , anni centers waiting list lo have your son's name listed. some centers only provide ABA therapy and we have to look for speech/OT centers separately usually Speech and OT will be 1hr to 2hrs for therapy in a week. Autism centers will do another evaluation and recommend the number of hours required for therapy, once you are accepted from the waiting list. Ask them if they can recommend maximum number of hours i.e. 40hrs per week. and if they have slots open for 40hrs they will give or else they might stick to 20hrs per week., always prefer high number of hours when comes to therapy, inclinic avthe inka better and at home ante, koncham kastam avtundhi meeku. India ki pampaku it will not help him. I have been keenly observing my daughter since she was 12 months old when I took her to swimming classes and when I looked at other kids , Immediately came to conclusion something is not right. I joined her day care, they used to isolate her during the afternoon nap because my kid would not sleep and she is hyperactive, this has been going on until 18months and finally I saw no improvement in her behavior. So ekade therpay best and insurance cover full therapy after deductible and out of pocket is met. Join your kid in Medicaid and if autism centers accepts it as secondary insurance , you dont even have to pay deductible , Medicaid will cover it. some providers take Medicaid and some dont, contact everyone, around your house, and look on their websites to see what kind of insurance and what kind govt waiver they accept and enroll in it accordingly. call your state health department and find out program that you enroll your child, they offer wide variety of services depending upon the programs. my insurance is funding child for a 4 year period (not child's age) from day of treatment , check with yours on how long they cover. Stress level peaks lo unatayi, frequent quarrels might come across between you and your wife. you both need to calm down. call your inlaws or your parents if possible until you navigate this situation, it will help morally. Office lo chepesai, reporting manager ki , you will get lot of support in the work with respect to time offs and cover up hours when you are time off., because they might have seen a lot. Goals to focus : My first preference when it comes to OT : Daily living skills, in order 1) potty training, 2) brushing 3) self feeding(make sure he gets variety of food, if he has sensory issues you will take feeding therapy as well) and try to keep a routine 7days a week if you need help in navigating insurance , what to ask and how to enroll in Medicaid let me know, pm your email or number , we have a whatsapp group you can join their. I will pm you my details incase you need anything. 3

Yes, avali, infact one year ke avtaru. matladam veru, respond avadam veru. Most babies understand and respond to their own names by about 5 to 6 months of age, and most do by 9 months. it depends on kid to kid, but mostly 18 months they should respond . Respond ante, palakadam kadu, atleast head/eye turn ayina chestaru

From my experience US docs have specific milestones by age but lot of kids fall out of those and grow up fine as they age.

We are millennials and we should act responsible. Our parents generation were ignorant regarding health, because they did not have access to information. Our generation SHOULD not repeat that MISTAKE as we have ocean of reliable information available. TIME is KEY when it comes to autism spectrum disorder. So one has to act fast. Just waiting game is not going to help.
