Did they mention cause of accident anywhere?

According to Illinois State Police, a 2013 blue Fiat Sedan was going southbound on Route 3, just north of Old Cape Road in Union County when for an unknown reason it crossed the center line and hit a black Toyota Sedan head-on.

The driver of the Fiat, 32-year-old Marie A. Meunier, of Cape Girardeau, and the driver of the Toyota, 23-year-old Pavan Swarna, of Carbondale, died at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota, 23-year-old Vamshi K. Pechetty, of Carbondale, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Road with no divider.. Other lady hit these folks head on and then their car rolled over

47%PERCENTAGE OF PASSENGER VEHICLE OCCUPANTS KILLED IN 2019 WHO WERE UNRESTRAINED

Of the 22,215 passenger vehicle occupants killed in 2019, 47% were not wearing seat belts.

Seat belts saved an estimated 14,955 lives and could have saved an additional 2,549 people if they had been wearing seat belts, in 2017 alone.

55%OF THOSE KILLED DURING THE NIGHTTIME IN 2019 WERE UNRESTRAINED

NHTSA does not publish statistics based on ETHNICITY, their DRIVING PROFICIENCY, DISTRACTION LEVEL of DRIVERS involved or whether other SAFE DRIVING NORMS were followed.

It is not out of bounds to assume that people who are involved in these crashes ( even when the other party is fully culpable ) are violating one or more things mentioned above.

If you are not an experienced driver well versed with EVASIVE DRIVING then perhaps nightime driving should be put off for a futrure date.

Evasive actions involve fast and effective maneuvers made intentionally to avoid colliding with a person, another vehicle, or an object. Safe to assume these guys wouldn't know the first thing about that.
