YSRC tally to go up in next elections: Times Now survey

Yet another independent survey has revealed that the ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, can actually win more assembly seats than what it had won in 2019.

The latest survey, which was conducted by popular English television new channel Times Now, has disclosed that if the general elections are held immediately in the state, the YSRC would win a minimum of 17 and a maximum of 23 Lok Sabha seats.

If the maximum figure is taken into account, the YSRC will be able to win 161 assembly seats, if the Lok Sabha election results translate into the assembly poll results.

In the last general elections, the YSRC had won 22 Lok Sabha seats and 151 assembly seats.

So, this time, Jagan will be able to win one Lok Sabha seat and 10 assembly seats more, which is a huge win.

On the lower side, too, the YSRC would still retain the power in Andhra Pradesh. Even if it gets 17 Lok Sabha seats, it would translate into 119 assembly seats, which will be 31 seats more than the absolute majority mark.

It was only a few days ago, that the Mood of the Nation survey conducted by prominent English magazine India Today in association with another popular agency C-Voter disclosed that the YSRC would win 18 Lok Sabha seats, accounting for 126 assembly seats.

Similarly, another survey conducted by another popular English television channel India TV has revealed that the YSRC would get 19 Lok Sabha seats, which would mean 133 assembly seats. It also said Jagan is among the top five best CMs in the country.

Coming to Telangana, the Times Now survey revealed that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would get six to 10 MP seats – accounting for 42 to 70 assembly seats.

If the higher figure is taken into account, the TRS will retain power, but if the lower figure is correct, it will fall short of magic figure, but might still be the single largest party in Telangana.

The other previous two surveys, too, revealed that the TRS will retain power but with a truncated margin.

All the three surveys projected a sharp rise in the number of seats for the BJP, which would outscore the Congress to emerge as a strong opposition party in Telangana.
