4 men charged with hiring a minor for sex in Edina sting operation

Now six of seven men have been charged in the Edina sting arrests.

 

EDINA, Minn. — Six men have now been charged in an Edina human trafficking sting operation. 

In a press release Friday, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office charged Jose Armando Sanchez Martinez, Andy Valenzuela, Rajendran Thiagarajan and Donald Charles Reuer with a felony count of hiring or agreeing to hire a prostitute/actor who is reasonably believed to be under 18 but over 16 years of age. 

Reuer was charged with an additional felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. 

Edina Police initially arrested seven men in an operation intended to combat human trafficking in the I-494 corridor, which includes Bloomington, Edina, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Richfield. Two men were charged Thursday and one man has yet to be charged. 

Sanchez Martinez, 23, is from Minneapolis. In the criminal complaint, prosecutors say that an undercover cop told Sanchez Martinez that she was 17 and he acknowledged that and met at an arranged location in Edina, where he was arrested. 

Valenzuela is a 28-year-old man from St. Louis Park. Prosecutors say an undercover cop posted an ad for sex on a website and Valenzuela called and texted the number listed. The detective told Valenzuela that she was younger than her ad posted:

"my ad says 20. But im 17," the detective's text read in the complaint. "we can still have fun."

Valenzuela texted that he could bring a condom and he was arrested at the meetup location, according to the complaint. 

Thiagarajan, 43, is from Eden Prairie. Prosecutors say he called and texted the undercover officer after seeing an online ad. He reportedly told the officer, "age doesn't matter," when she said she was 17 years old.

Reuer, 48, is from Maple Grove. Prosecutors say he texted the undercover officer and asked for her to verify her age twice and she told him she was 17. He allegedly responded, “guess I personally don’t care but that’s not the way other people would see it.” 

He arrived via bicycle to the meetup point and attempted to flee when he saw officers. After a short chase, he was arrested. 

Reuer allegedly told the detective he wanted to try "shooting" meth and officers searched his backpack and found a bag of methamphetamine that weighed 1.07 grams.

I general kuda desi gallu, Ontari ga women kanipisthe irrespective of age , bad ideas vasthayi, this is cultural thing hardwired into their brain.
