Asalu ekkada undhi they shot with 35 mm ani ? They didnt reveal any where , there are lot of films that release in imax without being completely shot in IMAX , Its just aspect issue that you nibbis have problem with always . Even I remember when I watched dark knight only when action scenes the aspect ratio is increased to IMAX ,rest of the film has black cuts . Now they can increase the aspect ratio when action scenes are shot with IMAX presentation in mind when filming even with other cameras. Films not shot with IMAX cameras can be played in IMAX theaters due to a remastering process called IMAX DMR. This technology allows for the upscaling of films to the IMAX format, enhancing their resolution and aspect ratio to fit the larger screen. While some films are "shot with IMAX," meaning they use specialized IMAX cameras, many more are "filmed for IMAX," utilizing other high-resolution cameras and then digitally remastered. Here's a more detailed explanation: IMAX DMR: This process takes a standard film and digitally enhances it to create an IMAX version. It optimizes the image for the larger IMAX screen, improving clarity, color, and sound. "Shot with IMAX": This refers to films specifically captured using IMAX film cameras, which are known for their large size, high cost, and noise. "Filmed for IMAX": This encompasses films that may be shot with other high-resolution cameras but are then mastered for IMAX presentation, taking advantage of the larger screen and enhanced audio. Cost and Practicality: IMAX film cameras are expensive, bulky, and can be challenging to use, particularly in situations requiring handheld or dialogue recording. Aspect Ratio: While some films may be shot with an aspect ratio that is not fully compatible with IMAX (like 2.39:1), they can still be presented in IMAX with the expanded aspect ratio (1.43:1 or 1.90:1). Benefits of IMAX DMR: Despite not being shot with IMAX cameras, films remastered with IMAX DMR can still offer a more immersive experience with a larger screen and enhanced audio. Quote
A1startarak Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 @akkadikipo All films only used IMAX for action episodes , See how less it is for used in Hollywood biggies Fantastic Four IMAX intro (only the 1.43 portion was timed): 52.40 seconds • Galactus Scene 1: 3 minutes 34.31 seconds • Galactus Scene 2: 18.23 seconds • Galactus Scene 3: 1 minute 28.27 seconds The Fantastic Four: First steps now ranks as the 20th film (tied with Eternals) out of the 23 movies that have used the full 1.43:1 IMAX aspect ratio, in terms of total IMAX minutes. For those curious about what kind of IMAX experience this translates to, here’s how it compares to other films with similarly short 1.43 usage: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009): ~9 minutes • Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015): ~5 minutes • First Man (2018): ~7–10 minutes • Eternals (2021): ~6 minutes • Megalopolis (2024): ~5 minutes Quote
