telugu states lo 89 nundi start ayindi. apude strong opposition form ayindi congress ki against ga. before that only congress monopoly against independents and communists but only limited to beer and pulao. but 89 nundi chala areas lo cash distribute cheyadam start chesaru. 2009 was peaks in united ap as YS openly gave orders to distribute money to 140 constituencies as he was certain congress was having full anti. anduke chala neck to neck nadichindi 2009 in united ap.

it started in the 70's the reason they used to do food or money. aa time lo Cooli ki velthe gani gadavani families chala undevi, vote veyadaniki velthe aa roju no cooli, So politicians started giving them 5rs etc, ade 80's lo 20 ayindi and by 90's it became buying of votes.

It started with NTR who gave freebies to attract voters in the 90's . He gave too many financially bleeding  gifts to the voters in return to get elected (alcohol ban, 2 rs rice and countless others) . In fact the economy was so dire, when chandrababu became CM in 1999, his biggest policy was following austerity in everything and getting economy back on track. . This made him villain to many people and state employees. YSR then took the opportunity in 2004  and promised  freebies and so did his son. After couple of terms, Chandra babu realized this is the only way he can come to power again and yet again granted wishlists that would kill the state economy with no money left for real development  . Every single politician after 90's screwed the state with no exceptions.
