I had some work done today at a government office. They made us wait because we refused to give them bribe. But it was time sensitive so we paid half of what they asked. Before digitization, we would have paid 100 times that amount. Bribes also reduced or vanished in many other government offices especially inside Hyderabad. Dome people still pay because they think they have to bsed on previous practices. Healthcare is also 10 times better than US. Find a trust worthy doctor network and stick to them. US doctors also have less expertise compared to Indian doctors. As you said domestic help is a huge plus. Once you find good help, pay them well and treat them well. Our help have been with us for very long time. You can form your own bubble in India. US lo we associate mostly with fellow IT crowd that's why we don't know about real US.
