I don't think these Ganesh celebrations are   such a big issue compared to others. Mexicans,Persians,jews and pretty much all others entirely block/cordon off entire main  streets/down town  with police protection. traffic will be re routed and loud music and celebrations are common. Most of us are okay with those and just mind our business and chose alternate roads for the day. Some of us will even admire those for their unique culture.

These Ganesh processions looks like happening inside the community (where mostly 90% are Indians). They are no trouble to any other people in city. I don't understand why it is a shame to Indians for celebrating. Deep down , I feel people are just pissed they don't have an eco system to be able to enjoy like this in their place of residence. I see many speak cheap about desi parties (mostly when  they  do not have friends who invite them or not enough desi in general). But the moment you invite them to a party ,the same people will dance like there is no tomorrow and drink upside down. 

If you are fortunate enough to have enough friends to do these inside communities where you are not disturbing many around, enjoy yourself . Even the movie theater audiences are just plain stupid and not  a big shame  to Indians , as many pointed out. if there is no shame in seeing pirated movies, ip tv, illegal business, multiple jobs, how is it a honest ticket buying, celebrating people become shame to Indians.

Stop looking at Indian celebrations through  a microscope, and others with bird eye view. You will never appreciate both anyways.

Chill bro. There are good people in both states. And there are hooligans in both states as well. Let’s not attribute this to one state. 
 

As per your logic, exercising religious celebration is atleast legal in USA. I can’t say the same in regards to movie stars. 
 

Also by chanting Gods name one section will get some punyaaa. What do people get for being fanatics of movie stars?

There is nothing wrong to celebrate but the catch here is taking required/proper permit and notifying the one who will be affected.
