To be honest, British lost control over the sub continent soon after end of WW-1 in Nov, 1918.

The sardars who fought for British side in Europe came back and revealed the real state of UK, its declining military power and financial condition.

News spread quickly around Punjab and local rebellions started revolting.

Sensing danger, British Gov sponsored JalianwalaBagh shooting on Bisakhi day of April,1919…. 

Since then British found it difficult even to do basic admin. Gandhi came as rescuerer and started non-violence movement that have British the breathing space.

And then Great Depression, Hitlers rise, WW-2 and we know the rest

HIs point was different.

I agree with you on this Nizams really did great though occassionally religious conflicts occurred.

In fact last Nizam was happy to surrender to Union Govt of India but was held back by the head of Razakars - Rizvi.

Except for those last years, Nizams really did great...so advanced that Hyderabad gave away tons of gold to the British Gov as WW-2 war effort.

NB: For those neo-nationalistic Bharatheeya dogs, I am not a muslim and not a supporter of Islamic invasions.

if not for gandhi or nehru, we would not be having present india anna.. british probably might have left because of violent protests, but india would have been bits and pieces with multiple types of administrations..
