You show in taxes meaning goes to IRS and now USCIS asking what is the source of this income ? If it’s H1 B holder account then it’s illegal, you can’t make business on your name. Open LLC and do business then no problem. It’s like running pay check on 1099 work. Which is not allowed on h1b Quote

Which is not allowed on h1b Once you report it to IRS as rental income then it is the proof that it is rental money. H1Bs can get rental income as long as they are not actively managing. Just collecting rent is not actively managing it. Quote
