All they need is one product not really. they need thousands to understand architecture function for this type speciality electronics. and then they need to design bug free firmware. so it is lot of things that needs to be in line. china is not even able to produce decent EV for middle class. all of their EVs are sub par quality with no resale value. only Tesla has resale value in China. Difficult to repair BYD (example Tang) retains ~55-60% of original value after 3 years (so ~40-45% depreciation).
