i am not expert..but in this AI era there are three paths..

  1. building your own S/M/LM... everyone thinks LLM is the only solution but lot of crowd missing is scope of SLM..MLM... a model can run on your computer or mobile...for personal use....with limited resources...still that is not fully explored by big tech firms yet... so start with SLM..or MLM..and explore the concepts of vectors embeddings...transformers..etc

  2. second category is...building custom agents on top of the existing LLM models...lot of corporations are in that directions... this one will give you some jo0b opportunintes for some time..

  3. last one is prompt engineers....just consumer level...who just give a prompt and generate something and gett he job done... these people are called "cognitive offload"....very important google that term cognitive offload..
