In Afghanistan & Iraq campaigns, boots were on the ground very early in Afghanistan it's in week 2 and in Iraq on day 1. Even if the current administration is paralyzed, and will eventually taken over there will always be rebel factions resetting kamikaze attacks. All this will take years to wind up. Don't expect things to normalize soon. Report
