Before 1947, there was never a country called India at least as we know it today.

But definitely India had 5000 years of civilisation, that never helped its citizens let alone loosing to every invader.

India (present day Pakistan+SL+India+Bdesh) was a continuous piece of land with so much civilization...but obviously they lost the ground by 10th Century AD. As a result got invaded by even a small time rowdy gangs like Khilji of Kabul.
