but do you think it would solve the problem of India being reliant on fossil fuels ?
do you think adapting to EVs eliminate for the need of importing OIL altogether ?
if India changes 100% to EVs wrt individual passenger vehicles do you think Air Quality gets better on par with US or Canada ?

Shifting to EVs would reduce significant amount of pollution. Isnt it good? This is something in our hands. A good person has personal responsibility towards his neigbors and his nation. It has somehow become socially acceptable to throw toxic gases on others faces while we drive by.

If you think about it removing youself from its influence, you woukld find it wierd and psychotic.

And then there would be network effect. For example if a road is dirty, everyone will start dumping.

Similarly, once people shift to EVs, they will complain and revolt against bad construction practices, bad roads etc.

Still imported oil wont go to zero as oil is needed for various other things like plastics for example. But imports would reduce by a huge amount. And this money can be diverted to other programs.

In regards to food, I keep saying the same thing about Rice and meat.

Reduce the amount of rice to one day a week. Shift to millets. Millets have more fiber and needs much less water than rice. Less labor intensive as well.

Same with meat.....no need to stop eating it. I would say enjoy eating meat. Only way you enjoy it is when you eat once every 2 weeks. Once a month is even better. Some people eat every alternate day. Why?

1. I am applying the same logic and telling those buying a new vehicle to shift. Not telling people with old petrol to throw away. People with old vehicles can do cost analysis and shift if it makes sense.

2. Already told you that even without solar, its much cheaper. Don't make me repeat this point again and again. Less moving parts means less maintenance and even without solar electricity is cheaper than petrol. Petrol vehicles have 10 times more moving parts.

3. Govt is already doing a lot by providing subsidies and tax rebates. Its the idiotic people who are the problem

4. Again if it takes generations for change to happen, humans would be replaced and we as a species would go extinct. Wake up. TESLAs will use battery to cool or warm to the optimum operating temperature, all the software will make it efficient to work. In a real practical world, there are may issues that will make you think ICE cars are better.
