Sankranthi stakes are high for Tollywood

Tollywood is all set to stake around Rs. 150 crores in the coming Sankranthi. The who's who of the industry are all set to test their "satta" in the days ahead. Nagarjuna, NTR Jr, Venkatesh and Ravi Teja are among the prominent heroes who will battle it out at the box office. But producers have something bigger to worry about than the fickle minded Friday fortunes. The Telengana issue is simmering, though at the background for the moment. All it takes is one opportunistic member to raise a non-existent issue and blow it out of proportion. The producers of these big-budget movies are a nervous lot. In fact Bellam Konda Suresh is reshooting all scenes of Roja with another actress in the Ravi Teja starrer. The experience of Saleem and Arya2 is only too fresh in their minds. Especially in Hyderabad there are also a few big budget English movies lined up for release and this could take away the multiplex crowd. Avatar’s success is a case in point.
