I hope this is not turned into upper caste v lower caste issue as in this case the oppressor was from the Thevar community which is classified as backward class and in fact they fought to be classified as most backward class (vaguely remember this in 2011).

 

Most of the crimes that happen to scheduled castes and tribes in Tamil Nadu is actually from Backward classes.

 

Bigotry is not unique to a specific caste or section of a society - even if the entire country of India is filled with backward classes - they will still find ways to hate each other, discriminate each other.
